Day 1, South Coast of Iceland
On this day we will see the best of the best in Iceland.
We start our adventure day along the south coast of Iceland. The first stop will be at a waterfall called Seljalandsfoss, here we can walk behind the waterfall. After this amazing stop we will head towards the mighty waterfall Skógarfoss, feel the nature first hand and walk as close as we can. If we are lucky we might see some of Iceland’s myths or the trolls, wobbling around there.
Other stops will be at a hidden waterfall, beautiful Reynisfjara black-sand beach and Dyrhólaey promontory.
Day 2, Vatnajökull National Park and Glacier Lagoon
Our first stop will be at Fjaðrárgljúfur (Feather River Canyon) to do a short hike to stretch our legs and explore this magnificent canyon. Heading east to the largest national park of Iceland and in Western Europe, Vatnajökull national park is situated in the south east of Iceland. Here we will choose a good spot to view the dramatic landscape around the glacier. Our next stop will be the famous Glacier lagoon or the so called Jökulsárlón and is one of Iceland's crown jewels. The beach next to it is called Diamond beach because of its sparkling icebergs sitting in the sand. After our enjoyable day we will head back to our accommodation and hopefully have a glimpse of the Northern Lights if conditions are in our favour.
Day 3, Ice Cave Adventure
Here we will team up with our good friends at Local Guide, local experts of Vatnajökull glacier. We jump into their super jeep to start our adventure.
We will gear-up with helmets, crampons and some warm clothing before and take an exhilarating adventure.
The tours in total will take us from 2,5-3,5 hours. That includes the super jeep ride to the front of the glacier, about 45 minutes one-way. After the drive we gear up to go explore the ice cave. We spent up to 1 hour exploring and drinking in the beauty of this majestic glacier ice cave. This tour is well worth the effort and might be a highlight of your Iceland trip.
